Self-awareness exercise (“Invisible Post-It note”) guided by Eva Manole

Tickets ($10-12 or by donation)

Snacks, coffee, and refreshments provided.

This first gathering, of an ongoing series of Lifewriting workshops, will give everyone who wishes an opportunity to be part of crafting and building your new, intergenerational, inclusive and daring Lifewriters’ group focused on personal writing and community activism. Rooted in the core principles of empathy and storytelling as means of connecting, this series will offer a bridge out of isolation and a safe space to spark dialogue and understanding between generations and cultures.

Mind your gap. Do you know who you are?

This first part of the launch will feature guest speaker and leadership development coach, Eva Manole, who will walk us through the “invisible sticky note” we wear in the presence of others and the importance of cultivating self-awareness to help you find your authentic voice.

Express yourself. What’s your story?

The second part of the workshop will introduce the craft of creative Lifewriting to participants. A stimulating free-writing exercise will be followed by a Storytelling Circle facilitated by writer and journalist, M. Marcel. The Circle will give everyone who wishes an opportunity to share their story in a peer-supportive environment.

Bring your energy and ideas. Make new neighbourhood connections. Everyone is welcome.
