World Circular Economy Forum, "Plastics without Borders: a Workshop Exploring Global Supply Chain Issues and Leading Circular Solutions" | 2021

Client: EPRD – the Office of Economic Policy and Regional Development / EU Delegation to Canada (EUD)
Aim: To strengthen cooperation of the EU with Canada and support a transition towards a more circular economy through targeted digital outreach and a tailored social media campaign for the WCEF 2021 Accelerator Session.
Description: Marcel Communications was engaged to develop and implement a communications campaign to promote and raise the visibility of the virtual Workshop, which featured 12 international influencers who shared their insights on overcoming barriers and accelerating the transition towards a circular plastics economy. The campaign included Outreach Plan implementation in closer collaboration with the Key Experts, social media content creation and management (LinkedIn and Twitter), and email marketing/editorial assistance (EN/FR).
Results: The LinkedIn campaign – which ran before, during, and following the Workshop – stimulated interactions with business leaders and practitioners, and helped generate over 120 new followers. The Session took place with 160+ participants in three interactive parts, furthering the Project’s objectives of tackling plastic waste in Canada and ensuring sustainable consumption and production.

Our Digital Future - C'est ICI! | 2019-2020

Client: Goethe-Institut Montreal / EU Delegation to Canada
Aim: To raise public awareness of the EU-Canada Youth Transatlantic Civil Society Dialogues through targeted press outreach and information campaigns.
Description: Marcel Communications was engaged to liaise with Canadian media outlets (Anglophone and Francophone), write press briefing materials and produce social media communications about European-Canadian youth involvement in building inclusive digital futures as part of the EU grant project, “Our Digital Future – C’est ICI!”
Results: A media launch event of the project – a one-year series of 6 ‘Thinkathons,’ in-person and online, in 12 Canadian and European cities – was co-planned and hosted in Montreal, a series of press releases, news stories and press outreach resulted in coverage in over 15 media outlets (ex., RCI, 630 CHED Edmonton, bx1+ Bruxelles, So German, The Concordian) generating deeper public awareness of European and Canadian youth political activism.
EU-Canada Workshop for Clean Tech SMEs | 2019-2020

Client: CESO Development Consultants / EU Delegation to Canada (EUD)
Aim: To raise public awareness of EUD’s work in supporting EU clean tech SMEs and raise SMEs awareness of new business opportunities thanks to the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).
Description: Marcel Communications was engaged to plan, develop and implement a communications campaign before, during and after the two-day EU-Canada Workshop for Clean Tech Companies in Montreal.
Results: One Partnership Story video, one Workshop Highlights video (in English and French), five videos profiling EU-based clean tech companies, one news story, and a social media campaign drove new traffic to EUD channels (over 1,000 views) generating public awareness of the activities of breakthrough EU clean tech SMEs.
Students on Ice Arctic Expedition | 2019

Client: CESO Development Consultants / EU Delegation to Canada
Aim: To maximize external visibility and communicate four European Sami’s journeys (3 students and 1 educator) on the SOI 2019 Arctic Expedition and raise public awareness of EU engagement on Arctic, Indigenous and environmental issues.
Description: Marcel Communications was engaged to plan, develop and implement a communications campaign – consisting of multimedia and press communications actions – before, during and after the SOI 2019 Arctic Expedition.
Results: One Expedition Welcoming video, one EU Ambassador sendoff video (co-produced with SOI Foundation), a Launch Event hosted by the Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada on Parliament Hill, media outreach resulting in coverage in 9 outlets (incld. CBC North and the Aboriginal Peoples TV Network), and a social media campaign (40 photo/video/text posts) drove new traffic to EUD channels (over 1,500 views, 40 shares and 300 likes on Facebook alone) generating public awareness of EU Arctic, Indigenous and environmental engagement, and the Sami’s stories.
EU-Canada Policy Dialogues Support Facility | 2019-2020

Aim: Establish, plan, articulate and implement the three-year communications strategy, visual identity and branding for the EU Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) EU-Canada Policy Dialogues Support Facility (PDSF).
Description: Marcel Communications was engaged to lead the development and implementation of a Communications Strategy and design brand and campaign assets for the Support Facility and her Specific Projects.
Results: A Communications and Visibility strategy covering press, communications and media activities over the life of the Facility was produced, tailored communications campaigns were developed and implemented for Specific EU Projects in Canada, including CETA Government Procurement Guide, Globe 2020 and the EU Security and Defence Symposium, and brand and visual identity assets such as the PDSF logo, slide decks, report templates, and business cards were designed.

My Life by Ronald D. Nelson III | 2018-2020

Client: Private
Aim: Document and craft the life story of retired businessman, Mr. Nelson.
Description: Marcel Communications was engaged to provide writing, editorial, design and layout and book publishing services.
Results: A full-life, 15-chapter autobiography (hardcover) crafted for Mr. Nelson, the Nelson Family and future Nelson generations.

In Search of Self: My Life from India to England to Canada by Jeremy Triggs | 2019

Client: Private
Aim: Document and craft the life story of retired teacher, Mr. Triggs.
Description: Marcel Communications was engaged to provide editorial, design and layout and book publication services.
Result: A full-life, 19-chapter autobiography (softcover) crafted for Mr. Triggs and the Triggs Family.

PAX Corporate History Book | 2018

Client: Private
Aim: Document and produce the history of PAX in a book.
Description: Marcel Communications was engaged to produce (conceive, write, edit, design and publish) the story of PAX Construction Ltd. as a keepsake for the company.
Results: A 55 page, 8-chapter narrative, softcover book capturing the spirit of PAX, filled with photos, facts, testimonials and a list of all company projects over its 30 year history. Read excerpts

Como Lake United Church Story Project | 2018-2019

Client: Como Lake United Church
Aim: Document and produce the history and ethos of CLUC, a spiritual home of Christ.
Description: Marcel Communications was engaged to facilitate and record a series of story circles for congregants, interview Church members, and develop, write and edit the 100 year history of Como Lake United Church.
Results: A 40-page manuscript of CLUC’s people, their stories, memories, wisdom, commitments, deeds and values over 100 years produced for the Church.
